In this role, the Quality Assurance and automation engineer will be responsible for the manual and automation testing. He/she needs to perform the testing during the testing life cycle, ensuring that the requirements meet the needs of the client and identify, track, and dispose of any bug that could be found. As well as creating and maintaining automation test scripts using Selenium. This person will be responsible for analyzing the functionality of applications and designing automated tests to validate that it meets the user or business needs, as well as identify, and report bugs found by the automated scripts.

The QA automation engineer should have programming and analytical skills.

This position is expected to collaborate with team members in or outside the QA team, validating testing consistency by manual solutions. Support is required at all phases of testing QA, UAT, and/or Production


Role and Responsibilities

 

·        Analyze and Design test cases based on the requirements.

·        Execute the test cases even manually or automated fashion.

·        Document the results of the test cases and report any issues.

·        Confirm the fix for any issue reported in QA, UAT, or Prod environment.

·        Performs proof of concepts as required.

·        Meeting with the users or business people to define risks and key features.

·        Evaluate the scope of the key features by reviewing the manual test cases or application demos to provide feedback on suitability for automation.

·        Participates in the definition of the Automated Test Architecture.

·        Follow standards to generate the test scripts as well as design reusable components.

·        Assures that the Testing Environment and Test Data are ready for automation.

·        Designs and creates Automated Test projects for functional, smoke, or regression testing.

·        Executes Automated Test Scripts according to the test plan and test schedule.

·        Log and report the execution results.

·        Reports and tracks defects according to the Defect Management process.

·        Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

·        Coordinates and/or participates in revisions, inspections, and walkthroughs.

·        Communicates test results to the Test Lead.

·        Collects and reports test metrics.

·        Supports and monitors activities from other automation resources.

·        Willing to do manual testing in case is necessary to start or support projects.

·        Able to automate front-end web applications.



Requirements:
Qualifications and Education Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field.

·        5+ years of experience working with software testing of web-based applications.

·        4+ years of experience working as an automation engineer.

·        Bilingual (English/Spanish).

·        Programming skills.

·        Automation tools (selenium).
