Job Description

The CAD Operator I will work closely with engineering staff, providing expertise in AutoCAD, and conducting site visits to ensure proper implementation. The role also includes guiding less experienced CAD operators and contributing to the development of CAD libraries.

Job Details:

  • Monday to Friday | 8 AM to 5 PM Central Standard time
  • Salary: Based on candidate experience

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Modification Drawings: Including upgrades, extensions, and reinforcements to towers, mounts, platforms, and foundations.
  • Create Other CAD Products: As needed by the Engineering department.
  • Generate Preliminary Bills and Estimates: Including fabrication drawings for budget estimates.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Staff: On design matters.
  • Train and Direct Junior CAD Operators: Providing guidance and direction.
  • Develop CAD Library: To optimize design efforts for future projects.
  • Perform QA/QC of Drawings: Ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate CAD Services with Administrative Staff: To ensure timely billing.
  • Evaluate Work Priorities: Aligning resources to meet required work cycle times.
  • Design and Develop Construction Drawings: Supporting telecommunications infrastructure, including various detailed plans and elevations.
  • Conduct Site Visits: Ensuring proper implementation of turnkey construction jobs.
  • Adhere to Safety and OSHA Procedures: Ensuring a safe work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience with AutoCAD required.
  • Prior experience with 2D Ability to develop and produce structural modification drawings and be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Proficient in computer software programs, including AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Communication Skills – Excellent communication skills; speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; demonstrates group presentation skills.
  • Planning/Organizing – Excellent time management; organizational; plans work activities; sets goals and objectives; develops realistic action plans; completes.
  • Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; keeps commitments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially in Excel.
  • Excellent in multitasking.

  • Experience in the telecommunications industry.
  • Experience in 3D
  • Experience in the field of engineering.
  • Knowledge of proper engineering layout techniques.
  • Working knowledge of proper steel detailing.
  • Working knowledge of structural components and design methods.
  • Customer Service – Responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve partnership.
  • Photoshop Experience.
