Job Description

Candidate will provide strong technical support onsite at Vehicle Assembly plant for pre-production builds and launch for HVAC and Engine Systems commodities, mostly focused on HVAC and Cooling Systems (future builds could include support for exhaust, air intake and fuel systems)

· Represent HVAC and Engine Systems Product Development engineering onsite at Vehicle Assembly Plant for builds

· Root cause issues at assembly or EOL (end of line)

· Communicate issues to responsible Model Project Chief and Design Release Engineer to develop solutions on assembly issues.

· Coordinate PERs (Production Evaluation Runs) with plant team on changes

· Review detailed assembly process and identify/resolve issues with support of technical engineering lead teams.

· Work closely with Program HVAC & Eng Systems SSTM (Subsystem Technical Manager) to support onsite technical needs

· Support part reviews and sign off at each build phase

· Technical support Yard Holds / Product Related Issues (PRI’s)

· 100% on-site position at Toluca Plant (no remote or hybrid activities).

Requirements

Basic qualifications: 

● Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program

● Minimum of 5 years of automotive/powertrain engineering experience at either an OEM or supplier (Will consider an internship/co-op in these areas as time)

● Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English from High Level Meetings down to the Shop Floor

● Self-starter with strong leadership, communication & organizational skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.

● High level of experience with MS Office tools (Excel, PPT)

● Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions

● Ability to work off shift hours as necessary

Preferred Qualifications: 

● Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited program

● Design/Development Engineering experience in one or more of the following commodities: HVAC and Cooling (Automotive)

● Understanding of electric/powertrain vehicle thermal systems and common vehicle system interactions.

● Solid understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer from a practical standpoint

● Understanding of electrical circuits, components and their operating principles

● Knowledge of automotive packaging and general automotive assembly practices

● Familiarity with powertrain software and controls

● Experience in reactive quality tools for structured problem solving, Greenbelt or Blackbelt certified is a plus

● Working knowledge of Teamcenter

● Knowledge of Stellantis systems and/or products a plus
