Senior Interior Designer

Ohana Design Services is a vibrant, multi-cultural boutique entity focused on high-end residential resort design. The function of the position we are seeking is a candidate that is comfortable in leading all aspects of specific interior design projects with a main focus on the creative. Candidate should have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in leading the creative within luxury interior design projects. Responsibilities will include: project conceptualizing and visioning, all building specifications, space planning, FFE selections, budgeting and installation. We require in-depth knowledge of design principles, concepts, and best practices, and are looking for an individual who will design complete projects, and manage the work and execution of the projects to ensure efficient, accurate, and on-budget implementation. Qualified individuals must be 100% proficient in English with a design solution-centered focus and have the innate ability to multi-task.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Directly work with Client to understand and/or define project scope

· Develop creative, aesthetically pleasing and functional design selections based on customer needs and/or directives. Must be qualified to design, select and document all interior building selections and FFE for custom build homes to include tile, flooring, interior millwork design, plumbing selections, wall materials, countertops, window treatments, furniture, rugs, accessories, artwork and housewares as examples

· Analyze, guide and confirm space and design planning for the successful implementation of interior design solutions

· Present design concepts and selections to client in collaboration with Director / ·  Lead client meetings as requested, and prepare and distribute required updates to project workplan

·   Ensure design agreement and client proposals are fully executed before work plan is initiated

· Set overall project plan as it relates to supplier collaboration, work schedules and installation to ensure all project deliverables are on-time and on-budget 

· Manage budget preparation to include quoting, pricing, negotiation, data entry and proposal generation (with design assistant support)

· Manage and direct all subcontractors to enforce project goals and deadlines (with design assistant assistance)

· Manage and direct project installation(s), including coordinating and collaborating with internal departments and ensure installation standards are met

· Conduct site visits / direct design assistant site visits to identify areas that need verification 

·  Document all aspects of design process and file data according to departmental standards, ensure proper report and project documentation

· Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 6+ years of experience in designing and leading luxury residential interior design projects
•  Bachelor's degree in interior design, architecture or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, CAD, and general project management software
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
• Advanced proficiency in English
