Mission Statement:

Drive and achieve sustainable and transformational change across the extended Factory Value Chain, focused on the application of the Integrated Transformer Management (ITM) System.

Increase the maturity and capability of ITM across the organization, demonstrating sustained improvement in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost.

Responsible to enable and support the implementation of short, medium, and long-term actions to improve safety, quality, operating efficiency, and factory productivity in the entire value chain, enabling customer satisfaction.

Main Accountabilities:

1. Strategy Deployment

Business partner to the Factory Manager and cross-functional Leadership team in developing and operationalizing the Strategy Deployment process and Operations Center approach. 

Facilitates development of breakthrough objectives, action plans, KPI’s (Bowlers) and leads in development of Kaizen roadmap to support the overall deployment. 

Lead in operationalizing Strategy Deployment, maturing the overall system, ensuring effective Factory Standard Work and a connected daily management system.

2. ITM Maturity and Continuous Improvement

Responsible for building the site’s ITM capability through training and development, cycles of learning and application through kaizen, coaching and mentoring.

Change agent and champion of a continuous improvement culture focused on waste elimination across the organization using ITM lean methods, processes, and tools, such as 5S, Daily Management, Problem Solving, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance, Leader Standard Work, etc. 

Lead all activities in the organization to implement the ITM system and drive improved maturity assessment process to advance the organization through the ITM phases of deployment (Basic, Standard, Advanced, Leading). 

Closely monitors ITM Maturity Assessment results and facilitates implementation of actions to lead the organization through the maturity phases; drive to the ideal state (True North) of ‘ITM is how we run the business.’

3. Performance Management (SQDIC Focus)

Drive optimization of KPIs around Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.

Facilitate the integration of the HSE and Quality Management system into ITM for the organization. 

Lead and facilitate Cost Take-out for the organization and partner with the extended cross-functional organization on overall use of ITM tools to drive cost-out and productivity.

Own the overall management of RELEX KPI’s and Improvement projects for the Factory, including driving employee ownership and engagement. 

Develop Financial acumen to ensure priority actions are focused on driving the right improvements (needs-based) in the organization, impacting the bottom line and tied to Strategy Deployment.

4. Improvement Projects

Create, manage and facilitate the development of Cost-out and productivity projects across the business to achieve targets.

Facilitate and train team members in utilization of RELEX reporting of Improvement projects. Ensure effective sustainment of results and support problem solving (Root Cause Countermeasure) to close gaps to targets. 

Lead in the execution of impactful Cost Take-out projects for the Factory. Facilitate and train team members in assessing gaps and needs (overall expenses) using Factory Cost Productivity and OpEx Analyzer tools.

Partner with Controllers and leadership team to prioritize the most impactful improvement projects to reduce costs and improve overall profits.

5. People Capability, Training and Coaching

Build continuous improvement capability through training and implementation of ITM tools and methods.

Be the expert on the ITM system, with focus on training and coaching others to build capabilities on the tools and methods to drive process transformation.

Build a Coaching culture across the organization with focus on Employee Engagement and Accountability. 

Combine technical knowledge with people and organizational skills to deliver organizational maturity and KPI improvements.

Drive a culture of Servant Leaders who coach and engage team members, driving empowerment and ownership for continuous improvement every day in our standard work.

Scope:

Drive the Factory-wide business strategy with focus on the Strategy Deployment process across the site value stream, achieving operational efficiency and profitable growth.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:

BS degree in engineering or related field

10+ years of experience in manufacturing with Transformers/Energy manufacturing experience a plus

5+ years implementing and driving a Lean system (e.g., TPS, HOS, DBS, ITM) implementation across an organization.

Competencies required include Results Orientation, Strategic Orientation, Teamwork and Collaboration, People Development, Influence skills, Leadership, Change Management, Process/Quality Management.

Strong influencing skills and ability to train, collaborate and influence a continuous improvement mindset across the organization.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified, with Lean system development and transformation experience.

Excellent communication skills to include specific and technical oral and written skills to internal personnel and external customers

Expertise in rapid response and communication with internal and external stakeholders and Customers; utilizing root cause analysis tools to identify and resolve issues and lead a team to implement change

Strong analytical skills and well-versed with Office software, Minitab (or equivalent) and other statistical tools.
