- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and other specifications to determine the best programming approach
- Write, test, and debug CNC programs to ensure optimal machine performance
- Set up CNC machines, select the appropriate cutting tools, and determine the optimal cutting speed and feed rate for each operation
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure their efficiency and productivity
- Inspect finished parts and components to ensure they meet the required specifications
- Work closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot any issues and optimize processes
- Continuously stay updated with the latest CNC programming techniques and technologies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred
- 10+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer
- Full knowledge and ability to program a minimum of 5 axis machines
- Experience with turning and milling centers, live tooling, and multi-axis
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and programming languages (e.g., G code, M code, Fanuc)
- Solid knowledge of machining processes, tools, materials, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with CAM software, such as Mastercam, Bobcam, etc.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations in a manufacturing environment
