As the Virtual Lab Developer and Administrator, you are responsible for executing work that supports critical business and sales functions. The duties comprise building internal and customer-facing virtual labs that contain Windows systems, Linux systems and Quantum products. This professional also needs to troubleshoot and maintain the virtual labs, author applicable storylines that go with the labs and work with multiple departments to gather requirements and technical assets.

This role is to be based in our Zapopan office and offers a hybrid working schedule, with at least 3 days per week spent in the office. 

Job Duties:

Building and updating virtual lab environments which are used for demonstrating Quantum products. Authoring applicable storylines to showcase Quantum products within the virtual lab environment. Support of Quantum IT operational environment that delivers Quantum's business and end user systems. Interface with internal Engineering Product team to understand latest feature sets. Interact with lab platform vendor to ensure quality standards and timelines are met. Responds to service requests and performs both routine first-level and in-depth problem diagnosis and problem resolution related to Linux and Windows operating systems. Perform data backups and restores. Participates in server maintenance activities including system patching and shutdown/restarts. Monitors the operating environment and responds to alerts. Timely completion of project tasks. Leverage scripting language to achieve task automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python). Maintains Quantum standards.

Job Requirements:

Strong experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems. IaaS experience is a plus. Familiarity with operating systems, commands, and facilities (Bash and Python). Familiarity with VMware vSphere ESXi. Familiarity with system and database monitoring utilities. Familiarity with backup products and facilities. Familiarity with the different applications and how they work on each platform. Exposure to at least one system programming language. Familiarity with basic troubleshooting of SAN, LAN, WAN, and network protocols. Ability to effectively convey ideas through oral and written communications. Must be flexible and demonstrate initiative. Available for On-Call rotation. Physically capable of lifting and racking IT hardware devices. Bachelor’s degree related to computer science, business or information systems with 1-4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
