Your Role

At Gensler we are looking for an MEP Engineer with experience in designing and overseeing the construction of workplace interiors, retail center, commercial, and/or residential buildings. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, as well as experience in using AutoCAD and Revit.This person will be responsible for the coordination of the MEP systems with the architectural and structural systems of the building, as well as ensuring that the systems are designed and installed in accordance with all applicable codes and standards.

What You Will Do

Design and oversee the construction of MEP systems for new buildings or renovations, including HVAC, BMS, special installations, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical.

Develop project proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.

Prepare contract documents and specifications.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth communication and efficient workflows.

Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models.

Perform energy audits and develop energy conservation plans.

Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.

Analyze data from tests and site observations to troubleshoot issues and inform future designs.

Keep abreast of new technology and developments in the field.

Attend conferences and continuing education courses to maintain professional licensure.

Write reports detailing project findings and recommendations.

Compliance with local codes, construction regulations and NFPA

Your Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electricalengineering. 

Master’s degree in engineering is highly desired. 

Familiarity with sustainable design principles

10+ years of experience as an engineer in the MEP field

100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit, Navisworks, Office Excel 

Strong understanding of building codes and standards.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Must be self-motivated and capable of working under tight deadlines.

Extreme attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize required.

Familiarity with sustainable design principles.

Experience with energy modeling software programs, such as eQuest and EnergyPlus is desired.
