Job Summary

Principle Accountabilities:

Troubleshoots and repairs complex mechanical and electrical assemblies used in equipment at the component level. Operates electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and conducts special tests as required. Provides technical assistance and guidance to other technical personnel. Collaborates with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates. Presents training, when necessary, to the new build and service assembler teams. Contributes to the development of work instructions, batch records, equipment logs, material specifications and other device history documents. Helps monitor productivity of our equipment by tracking yields and equipment cycle rates. Assists with the installation, debug and validation of process equipment. Follows all safety guidelines and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor. Develops and maintains Debug Guide to troubleshoot PCBA. Provides training and PCBA debugging guidance to other debug technicians.

Serves as an expert/consultant in technical skills with other employees. Demonstrates knowledge of advanced technologies as well as functional techniques and improves processes.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers.

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Scope / Impact

May direct other employees; in some sites, functions as a working supervisor with large scope of responsibility.

Decision Making / Discretion

May make decisions or recommendations for team. Decisions may affect other teams.

Supervision / Leadership

May mentor, coach and lead other employees.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, work that requires repetitive motion, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to handle small components, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
