Technician Apprentice Opportunity Summary:
A Technician Apprentice will improve their mechanical skills while acquiring new ones to competently perform cleaning, maintenance, visual inspections, and disassembly of parts and accessories. This position will work under the direct supervision of a qualified service technician to ensure that all scheduled work is performed safely and to the customer's satisfaction.
Job Duties:
- Perform quality minor repairs and maintenance on diesel engines/heavy duty trucks as specified in manufacturer designed procedures.
- Assist in accurately completing all required documentation (e.g., repair information on work orders, information for state and emissions inspections) promptly.
- Help diagnose vehicle failures by disassembling, repairing and reassembling parts.
- Dedication and compliance with all company and industry safety standards.
- Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks.
- Read work orders, observe and listen to vehicles in operation to determine faults and plan work procedures.
Work experience and qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Currently enrolled in a Diesel Technology Program.
- Knowledge of computers and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
