The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and experienced Financial Analyst.
The Financial Analyst, FP&A (Latam, Global Export, & LDS) collaborates with commercial teams and senior leaders across the region in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial performance, periodic forecasts, and the annual budget. The position is a key resource supporting the Senior Manager, Latin America FP&A in providing analytics and insights on business performance in the region. The role conducts reporting and forecasting, working capital and balance sheet analysis and provides actionable insights to the local management teams and to America’s region finance leaders.

This role will be a full-time position base out of Mexico City Hybrid

What we’re looking for 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or related required.

Experience: 3+ years’ experience in financial analysis, preferably at a regional level.

Skills: Excellent bilingual (English & Spanish) writing, communication, and presentation skills.

Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word). Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets; Strong system aptitude required. Solid written and verbal communication skills, experience in a matrix environment desirable. Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical skills. In-depth knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, cash management, and financial analysis processes. Ability to work with senior management and local business leaders in developing operating plans and maintaining regular financial reports.

How you will thrive and create an impact 

Analyzes profit and loss performance against budget, forecast, and prior year and prepares all required reporting including variance analysis and gross margin analytics. Monitors and reports on all functional operating expenses and identifies key drivers of variances. Prepares profit and loss forecasts on a quarterly basis and other periodic forecast updates as required.  Completes all related reporting requirements and commentary. Collaborates with commercial teams to develop customer and product sales forecasts and plans, including analyzing the impact of volume, mix and pricing impacts. Prepares key performance indicator scorecards on a monthly basis, providing insights into performance trends. Assists functional managers in the development of department budgets and forecasts and provides oversight and reporting of monthly results and variances. Reports on key working capital metrics, identifying key drivers and recommends action plans to improve performance. Supports the US based customer service function with all financial requirements including monthly reporting, forecasting, and annual budget development. Perform other duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis. May intermittently travel domestically, international travel is unlikely. A certain flexibility of working hours is expected. Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
