A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be performing complex buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and materials; expedite as needed; and serve as a liaison between vendors and users, getting prior approval for purchases exceeding the established limit. Resolving complex delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Keeping updated project plans and purchasing systems; reviewing and analyzing requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases. Negotiates prices, terms, and quality requirements; prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources; evaluates market conditions. Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Performs complex buying strategic to purchase and arrange timely deliveries of supplies and material. Expedite as needed and serves as liaison between vendors and users Resolves delivery, quality or other related problems with purchases and invoices. Updates project plans and purchasing systems. Reviews and analyzes requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases Negotiates prices, terms, and quality requirement. Prepares requests for quotes and assists in the development of new supply sources Performs value analysis to identify cost improvements Travel to suppliers on an as needed basis to maintain close working relationships, understand key issues / opportunities and collaborate with key personnel. Effectively handle commodity desk and focus on automation and cost savings using existing tools and strategies. Assist in the development of our international supply chain. Keep internal customers advised of changes to production schedules affecting the delivery of their parts. Work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Support and lead biweekly order status meetings. Perform special projects as needed in addition to the assigned purchasing responsibilities.
What You Bring
3-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Demonstrates and applies a broad procurement knowledge through successful completion of moderately complex purchasing assignments. Optimally applies knowledge of organization’s business practices and mitigates known issues. SAP Functional knowledge and experience. Intermediate to Expert Microsoft Office knowledge and experience. Experience with buying strategies to purchase and arrange timely delivery parts to meet power generation customer requirements. Work with customers and suppliers as needed to expedite shipments to meet customer requirements. Intermediate technical proficiency required (to read and understand technical drawings, specifications)Who is Siemens Energy?
