  1. Tooling Design and Development:
    • Lead the design and development of stamping dies, progressive dies, and other tooling systems for automotive components.
    • Utilize CAD/CAM software to create detailed tooling designs, ensuring alignment with production requirements and quality standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tooling designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.


  2. Process Optimization and Improvement:
    • Analyze existing stamping and die cut processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and quality.
    • Implement design modifications and process enhancements to optimize cycle times, reduce scrap rates, and improve part quality.
    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize tooling lifespan and minimize downtime.


  3. Materials Selection and Testing:
    • Evaluate materials, coatings, and heat treatment processes for tooling components, considering factors such as durability, wear resistance, and thermal stability.
    • Conduct material testing and analysis to determine optimal selections for specific applications and operating conditions.
    • Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality materials and components for tooling fabrication.


  4. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide technical support to production teams during tooling setup, debugging, and troubleshooting activities.
    • Investigate and resolve issues related to tooling performance, part quality, and dimensional accuracy.
    • Develop and implement corrective actions to address root causes of tooling-related problems and prevent recurrence.


  5. Continuous Learning and Development:
    • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to metal stamping, die cutting, and tooling engineering.
    • Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance expertise in stamping die design, materials science, and manufacturing technologies.
    • Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers to foster a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
Optimize tooling designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost|Provide technical support to production teams during tooling setup
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tooling engineering within the automotive industry, with a high focus on metal stamping and die cut processes. (Tooling in the plastic injection industry don't apply).
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., CATIA, AutoForm) and FEA analysis tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of stamping die design principles, including strip layout, forming processes, and die components.
  • Experience with materials selection, heat treatment, and surface coatings for tooling applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive quality standards (e.g., TS 16949) and APQP processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Some level of english proficiency.
