Pressure Safety Engineer III
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
Analyze relief design with simple and mid-complex systems to comply with local regulation and Bayer policy based on available inforamation such as P&IDs and process description with understanding of chemical engineer fundamentals (chemical reactions, unit operations, process control concepts), instrumentation and control engineering and able to provide possible solutions and action plan for deficient systems. Calculate required relief capacity according to internationally accepted methodology, standards and tools used for the design of emergency relief systems through simulators such as SuperChems, Aspen. Verify the adequacy of relief system design and installation. Be aware of any updates or changes in local regulatory and applicable standards (API, ASME). Understand the principle of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and relationship with pressure protection by relief devices. Familiar with and able to generate an appropriate relief device specification. Identify basic under and overpressure contingencies for simple and mid-complex systems. On boarding and training to be redy as a PSDR Jr. Approver. Review and Approve basic relief design of simple (less complex) overpressure and underpressure contingencies such as thermal expansion, instrument failure, and pump overpressure supported with more experienced Pressure Safety Engineers. Support to more experienced Engineers with basic training and mentoring for new pressure safety designers.Who You Are
Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Biochemical, Petroleum, Biotechnological, Mechanical Engineering, or similar. Good English language skills, written and oral. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in process design, pressure safety (Pressure vessels/Relief device design) or process and plant safety in Chemical, Petrochemical or Pharmaceutical industry. Excellent understanding of chemical engineer fundamentals (chemical reactions, unit operations, process control concepts). Ability to analyze highly integrated processes based on process documentation (PFD, P&ID). Ability to work proactively, creatively and independently to obtain results. Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) effectively and promptly with all levels of the organization. Demonstrated people skills to work in teams. Excellent organizational skill. Proficient in Office Windows 365 especially Excel. Good stress and conflict management ability.
