Self Inspection | Remote — Mexico | 1–3 years experience | $2,000 USD/month

About the Role

Self Inspection builds AI-powered inspection technology, using computer vision to turn a smartphone camera into an inspection tool.

You'll build the systems behind our self-service purchase flow, automated onboarding, and usage analytics. This isn't a traditional engineering-team role — you'll write production code but sit inside Commercial Operations, reporting to the Head of Commercial Ops with a technical line to Product and Engineering. You'll also drive our shift toward AI-forward engineering: agents, RAG, and tooling that multiply what a small team can ship.

Great fit if you're a few years in, tired of being handed tickets, and already building with LLM APIs. Not a fit if you need a big engineering team around you.

What You'll Do

Build and maintain the self-service purchase and automated onboarding flow
Ship automated usage-analytics tracking, per-installation and in aggregate
Build production UIs in React and microservices in NestJS
Wire up LLM automation pipelines that cut manual work across commercial ops
Write clear technical specs and ADRs for leadership review

First 90 days: ship to onboarding in month 1, own the purchase flow by month 2, have analytics tracking live and one LLM automation replacing a manual process by month 3.

Must-Haves

1–3 years professional experience across frontend and backend
Shipped production React + TypeScript
Backend services in Node.js (NestJS preferred)
Hands-on with a major LLM API (Claude, OpenAI, Gemini) on something real
PostgreSQL, REST APIs, and you write your own tests
Strong written English — you'll write specs leadership reads
Located in Mexico

Python · RAG, vector DBs, MCP, LangChain · OpenAPI, Playwright, Jest/Vitest, BMAD, Spec Kit · AWS, Docker, CI/CD · Stripe or similar billing · Segment/Mixpanel/Amplitude · insurance, inspection, or B2B SaaS · bilingual English/Spanish

We don't expect all of it. Strong on React, Node, and LLM APIs plus fast learning is enough — apply.
