**About the Role**:**Grade Level (for internal use)**: 09**About the Role**: Shipping Data Analyst**The Team**:Our team is tasked with leading an exciting global project on freight markets, including port fee data collection for hundreds of ports worldwide and calculating tanker Base Rates and striving to elevate our projects to the next level. We are actively engaged in special projects, including new assessments and a focus on alternative fuels, which offer exciting opportunities for growth and development.**Responsibilities and Impact**:Collect tanker freight market information and port fee data for hundreds of ports.Develop and maintain data dashboards and reports for management review.Develop, expand, and maintain sources to ensure comprehensive data collection.Identify process improvement ideas and educate the market through various engagement initiatives and source development.Leverage research capabilities, by supporting special projects and initiatives as assigned by the management, including collaborating with other teams globally, research on specific topics and publishing insights.Cover freight markets when required.**Basic Required Qualifications**:Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.Experience in conducting research and data analysis.Strong numeracy and Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Comfortable writing international English in clear, concise style.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with S&P Global teams across different time zones, while simultaneously carrying out independent tasks and activities.**Additional Preferred Qualifications**:Understanding of commodity markets and its dynamics.Shipping/freight market experience, or market reporting experience, a bonus.Proficiency in data visualization tools and software, such as Tableau or Power BI.Knowledge in AI prompting.About S&P Global Commodity InsightsAt S&P Global Commodity Insights, our complete view of global energy and commodities markets enables our customers to make decisions with conviction and create long-term, sustainable value.We’re a trusted connector that brings together thought leaders, market participants, governments, and regulators to co-create solutions that lead to progress.
