In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and engineering of cloud solutions within our multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP), directly impacting our mission to deliver life-changing medicines. This role operates globally, collaborating with teams and stakeholders across all AstraZeneca countries.You will provide technical and people leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams—including Architects, Product Owners, Data Scientists, Software Developers, and Cloud Engineers—to engineer high-quality cloud solutions. You will focus on enabling project, product, and platform teams to deliver independently through automation, self-service, and integrated governance.**Key Responsibilities**:**Leadership**- ** Team Management**: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 5-10 cloud infrastructure engineers.- ** Strategic Alignment**: Align cloud solutions with business goals and promote a culture of continuous improvement.- ** Motivation**: Inspire and challenge colleagues to exceed expectations and go the extra mile.- ** Global Collaboration**: Operate within a global remit, coordinating with teams across all AstraZeneca countries.**Engineering**:- ** Cloud Expertise**: In-depth experience in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of cloud services across AWS, Azure, and GCP.- ** Architectural Design**: Design scalable and resilient cloud architectures using cloud-native services and technologies.- ** Infrastructure as Code (IaC)**: Expertise with tools like Terraform and AWS CloudFormation for automating infrastructure provisioning.- ** Agile Methodologies**: Work within agile teams using methodologies like SCRUM and tools such as Jira and Confluence.**Deployment**:- ** Automation Scripting**: Proficient in scripting languages like Python and PowerShell to automate tasks.- ** CI/CD Pipelines**: Develop, set up, and maintain continuous integration and deployment pipelines.- ** Process Streamlining**: Create scripts and tools to streamline deployment processes.**Security and Compliance**:- ** Security Best Practices**: Implement and advocate for cloud security principles and best practices.- ** Identity and Access Management**: Familiarity with IAM concepts across multiple cloud platforms.- ** Regulatory Compliance**: Ensure cloud environments adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.**Optimization**:- ** Cost Efficiency**: Optimize cloud resources for cost savings without compromising performance.- ** Performance Tuning**: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in cloud environments.- ** Scalability**: Design architectures capable of handling varying workloads with auto-scaling strategies.**Troubleshooting**:- ** Incident Response**: Lead responses to system outages and security incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams.- ** Root Cause Analysis**: Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify and resolve underlying issues.- ** Problem-Solving**: Tackle complex cloud infrastructure challenges proactively and efficiently.**Collaboration & Communication**:- ** Cross-Functional Teamwork**: Collaborate effectively with developers, operations, and other stakeholders across regions.- ** Stakeholder Communication**: Articulate technical concepts and design decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.- ** Matrix Management**: Oversee projects and coordinate cross-functional teams as a matrix manager, ensuring alignment and efficiency across various departments and regions.**Styles, Values, and Attitudes**:- ** Patient-Centric Focus**: Recognize that your work supports patients in need—urgency and dedication are paramount.- ** Positive Attitude**: Maintain a can-do approach, encouraging adaptability and resilience.- ** Initiative**: Proactively adjust methods to fit processes and customer requirements, finding new and innovative solutions.- ** Continuous Learning**: Passionate about learning and developing new tech skills to support our evolving multi-cloud environment.**Qualifications & Skills**:- ** Experience**: Demonstrable experience in cloud computing roles with a focus on architectural or engineering responsibilities.- ** Certifications** (at least one of the following):- AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Azure Solutions Architect Expert- Google Professional Cloud Architect- ** DevOps Proficiency**: Experience with automation tools and technologies such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, CloudFormati
