Position Summary Ensures performance to the master production schedule to achieve division objectives for customer service, inventory levels, and configuration management. Plans, prepares, issues, and controls difficult production schedules and material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Responsibilities Determine production priorities by studying the master production schedule and customer requirements. Act as a primary customer contact for matters regarding production status, schedule changes, shipping information, and returned material; adjust the master schedule in response to customer feedback and manufacturing capacity. Identify raw material and component requirements for production, ensuring accurate item master file and bill of material. Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems; evaluate, recommend, and implement changes to the overall planning process consistent with continuous improvement goals. Coordinate cross‑functional activities with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory Control, Shipping/Receiving, and Contract Administration to ensure a smooth flow of materials and consistent information regarding status and priorities. Evaluate material supply and demand; prepare work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts to support the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements. Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders and/or stock transfers to meet customer shipping dates and minimize inventory. Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems; may lead or be assigned to a special project team. Analyze inventory usage, scrap, and shrinkage; recommend and implement actions to minimize loss, reduce inventory, and/or increase inventory turnover. Analyze proposed changes in methods, schedules, and materials; recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Resolve problems concerning over‑shipments, shortages, engineering changes, and cancellation of orders. Maintain configuration control on all open orders and required data files as per division policies. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, establishing networks, and participating in professional associations. Comply with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; advise management on necessary actions. Provide leadership to others in the department; act as prime contact on high‑level projects and establish goals and objectives required to complete projects. Train and mentor less experienced employees; share specialized knowledge and represent the company on high‑level projects. Qualifications Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in materials planning, demand, and capacity, preferably in manufacturing plants. Knowledge of ERP systems and planning tools. Experience with Kanban and inventory strategy implementation. Skilled in problem‑solving tools and Lean system methodologies. Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements related to production control. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including database management and macros. APICS certification (preferred). Strong analytical and results‑oriented mindset. Proven experience in leading and developing teams.
