Overview Senior Software Development Engineer, Android. Zillow Mexico team working with US tech teams to simplify and automate buying, selling and renting experiences. This role involves leading initiatives, mentoring others, and driving the Android technology stack to build robust, scalable, and operable systems. Responsibilities Work on the latest Android technologies and architectural patterns to develop world-class mobile applications. Contribute to full-stack mobile application development from concept to launch. Implement client-side features and server APIs/services to support planned mobile functionality. Collaborate with an agile cross-functional team of developers, testers, designers and program managers to build features that meet user expectations. Deliver performant, testable, scalable, and readable code using OO best practices. Qualifications BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) and 6+ years of experience. 6+ years of Android experience with strong knowledge of Java and Kotlin. Ability to mentor and coach junior and senior developers. Ability to drive cross-team design and architectural decisions. Familiarity with Compose for UI Development and MVVM or similar patterns. Experience with modular Android architecture and collaboration with engineers across disciplines (BE, product, design). Experience delivering quality code under deadlines and profiling for performance optimization. Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Authorized to work in Mexico. Employment Details This role can be performed as a teleworker/remote position with attendance at occasional events in Mexico City. Remote employees may live in Mexico or the United States (per location policies). Compensation includes base salary, benefits, and eligibility for bonuses and equity awards based on experience and location.
