About the Role The role (Manager, AI Application) will be instrumental in this transformation by developing cutting‑edge AI solutions that translate advanced research into practical, scalable applications, collaborating across cross‑functional teams to deliver enterprise‑grade AI software, while also contributing to the establishment and enforcement of engineering governance and best practices. Strategic AI Leadership & Innovation Spearhead enterprise‑level AI/ML research and innovation initiatives, identifying emerging technologies and methodologies that align with AIA’s strategic vision. Shape and influence the long‑term AI roadmap, embedding cutting‑edge capabilities into core products and services to drive transformative customer and agency experiences. Lead the prototyping and validation of advanced AI approaches, ensuring business relevance, scalability, and technical feasibility. AI Research & Applied Innovation Direct research programs focused on novel AI/ML models, tools, and techniques to address complex business challenges. Foster a culture of experimentation and rigor through rapid prototyping, hypothesis testing, and impact validation. Translate research outcomes into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for business stakeholders. Solution Development & Enterprise Integration Architect and deliver production‑grade AI solutions in collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and product teams. Design and deploy AI engines as modular microservices within scalable, secure enterprise architectures. Assess and mitigate technical risks, ensuring seamless integration of AI components into broader digital ecosystems. Performance Optimization & Model Evaluation Define robust evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess model accuracy, efficiency, and resilience. Continuously optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and operational reliability across diverse environments. Architecture & Engineering Excellence Influence enterprise software architecture to support modularity, maintainability, and performance of AI systems. Champion engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and secure coding standards. Ensure deliverables meet the highest standards of technical quality and cost‑effectiveness. Product Development & Agile Rollout Lead the development and deployment of enterprise‑scale AI MVPs, guiding their evolution across business domains. Support agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and iterative delivery cycles. Governance & Knowledge Management Establish and uphold AI engineering governance frameworks, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance standards. Contribute high‑quality documentation and reusable assets to AIA’s knowledge base to promote transparency and cross‑team collaboration. Technical Leadership & Mentorship Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning. Champion engineering craftsmanship and drive adoption of modern AI development practices across the organization. Implementation Oversight & Quality Assurance Oversee the implementation of AI solutions, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and operational best practices. Conduct rigorous design and code reviews to uphold technical integrity and performance benchmarks. Strategic Collaboration & Influence Engage with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product owners, architects, and data scientists—to align AI initiatives with business objectives. Influence technology roadmaps and contribute to long‑term planning for AI capabilities across AIA.
