We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon.In this role, a typical day will include:- Design and develop sophisticated analytical tools using Tableau and Alteryx to support operational decision-making.- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in business processes.- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide critical business insights to stakeholders.- Collaborate with IT and business teams to integrate new data sources and ensure data accuracy and completeness.- Develop and automate workflows in Alteryx for data preparation, blending, and analytics.- Provide training and support to team members on Tableau and Alteryx usage and best practices.- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.- Stay up to date with the latest developments in data analytics and business intelligence tools.- Strong analytical skills capable of assessing complex business requirements from real world scenarios and the ability to translate them into solution design.- Analyze the final project, give feedback, determine areas of improvement, and help the project team to make necessary changes.- Be in a constant search for knowledge, new tools and technologies and propose improvement or innovation ideas.- Drive strategic analytics and business intelligence solutions to help with project cost planning and tracking.- Design clear and concise project plans identifying business case, proposed solution, proposed timelines and budgets and track progress against the plans.- Participate in key operational engagements to identify areas that will benefit from data analytics.- Develop data analytics projects using advanced analytical skills within reasonable timelines.- Partner with business, Project Management, Strategy Realization, Information Technology, and other Alcon teams to implement projects.- Ability to deliver projects using data science, machine learning, AI, statistical tools on Alcon’s analytics platform. Work with other parts of the delivery team in designing and providing requirements for data security, data ingestion and preparation to build reports.- Ensure the integrity of the data outcomes and validate key data resources.- Perform self-service data preparation and build reports based on user requirements.- Ability to leverage existing data and reporting available in SAP BI and BW system while developing advanced analytics.- Develop methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:- Undergraduate degree in Accounting and/or Finance required. Masters or Advanced degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred- CPA/Chartered Accountant preferred.- 5+ years of accounting experience - public and industry preferred.- 5+ Years of relevant experience in data analytics.- Excellent written and verbal English skills, along with quantitative, interpersonal, and analytical skills- Experience in building customized solutions to meet Audit, Operational and Compliance needs using advanced analytical and visualization programs.- Work with business users to identify use cases and build solutions to enable data driven decision making.- Translate and articulate requirements into user stories that will be used to implement algorithms.- Well versed with data prep/data cleansing tools and able to prep/cleanse data.- Experience in analyzing and preparing data using tools like Alteryx, SQL, Tableau, Adaptive workday, etc.- Skill in performing queries, extracting, blending, and joining disparate datasets using SQL and/or other query/scripting languages.- Leverage tabulated data within SAP BW and BI tools.- Experienced in statistical modeling and data mining techniques.- Participate in Proof of concepts and solution prototype developments, where necessary- Experience in using advanced data science solutions such as Python, R, SQL, R Studio, etc. and ability to build visualizations using tools like Tableau.- Evaluate new tools, libraries, and technologies.- Experience in working as part of agile teams and using agile and collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence.- Data savvy individual with hands on experience in preparing, analyzing, and deriving insights from data.- Exhibit strong project management skills and the ability to execute projects to completion.- Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCO
