Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.**Tax Manager (Global Tax Reporting) - Santa Catarina**As a Tax Manager in the Global Tax Reporting group, you will be part of a team managing Caterpillar’s non-US direct tax compliance processes and controls for over 90 entities in multiple tax jurisdictions. This process and governance-related role entails frequent interactions with external service providers, Corporate Accounting and Global Tax managers and directors. The experienced professional utilizes organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and high-level of accountability to ensure that tax reporting obligations are fully compliant with tax laws and regulations and Caterpillar protocols, and in assisting with any tax reporting related initiatives.**What You Will Do**:- Proactively collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Global Tax managers and external service providers to drive preparation and timely filing of local country income tax returns and transfer pricing documentation in Americas region and certain EAME countries in line with Caterpillar governance protocols- Oversee Caterpillar’s global use of service provider tool for non-US direct tax, including managing users and providing internal training as required- Maintain Reporting Group related content in Global Tax SharePoint site- Support FIN 48 process for non-US entities by reviewing workpapers for completeness, accuracy and comprehension- Manage non-US legal entity information in order to support Country by Country Reporting and other tax reporting initiatives- Support projects related to tax reporting process improvements, enhanced governance, or other initiatives**What You Have**:- The position typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or business related degree and 5+ years of progressively responsible finance experience.- **Effective Communications**:Understanding of effective communication concepts; adapts documents and correspondence for intended audience; demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating with internal and external business partners; communicates well downward, upward, and outward; employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement- **Problem Solving**:Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operational or process problems; contributes to standard practices for problem-solving approaches, tools, and processes- **Accuracy and Attention to Detail**:Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; evaluates and makes contributions to best practices; demonstrates expertise in quality assurance tools, techniques, and standards.- **Tax Operations**:Knowledge of tax practices and regulations; ability to manage preparation and filing of local tax returns; follows tax accounting and compliance practices and explains the rationale behind these practices.- Understanding of Caterpillar finance and business processes. Experience of non-US direct tax compliance requirements is an added strength.- Strong communication skills, accountability, organizational skills, and good judgment- Strong process management and improvement skills- Collaborative, proactive, team-oriented personality with the ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external business partners- Strong knowledge of M365 and familiarity with SharePoint- Fluency in English, both oral and written.
