We are active in our communities, driving and supporting social initiatives that benefit children, women and the environment.**Job description** About the job**We are looking for a legal counsel with a Mexican law degree, at least 5-7 years of experience from a law firm or inhouse with general business law, fluent in English. Being part of Ikano Retail’s centralized Legal Affairs, the Legal Counsel is responsible for providing legal advice and support to Ikano Retail, mainly in the local Mexico market, but also supporting other functions in the Southeast Asia Region.Your assignment- Your main responsibility will be to provide legal support and manage legal matters within a wide range of areas. You will be liaising with business units within IKEA Mexico, external business partners, service providers and governmental authorities in relation to legal matters. You will also support the General Counsel on global legal matters.- Your responsibilities include: (i) advising, drafting, implementing agreement templates, negotiating a variety of commercial contracts, (ii) supporting growth initiatives e.g. expansion projects for new IKEA Stores), e-commerce etc (iii) acting as the DPO and ensuring compliance with data protection laws, (iv) advising on disputes, (v) corporate secretarial work etc.- Evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and opportunities and provide advice on how to mitigate risk exposure and optimise business opportunities.- You will work with the IKEA stores and central functions to develop legal awareness, deliver training, provide legal advice, and offer commercial proactive guidance.- You will belong to global Ikano Retail Legal Affairs, and report to Ikano Retail General Counsel.**Qualification** Your profile**- A Degree of Law from a Mexican University _(licenciado en derecho titulado_) preferably compliments with additional certifications or diplomas ( _(diplomados o especialidad)_.- At least 5-7 years of working experience from a reputable business law firm and/or inhouse legal counsel in an international legal or business environment.- You are someone with strong communication skills, and fluent (both written & verbal) in English.- You are a curious, proactive individual that is highly committed with a strong drive. You possess an inquisitive, commercial, and analytical mind, enjoy being hands-on and always aspire to be a natural business partner.- You possess the motivation in the sharing of knowledge and enjoy being part of an international team environment.**More Information**Application Deadline : 19th March 2025.
