About the Role We are looking for a highly driven and experienced Vice President/Principal to join ACE Ventures in Zurich. In this role you will play a pivotal role in our firm, acting as a bridge between junior team members and partners while driving the investment process end to end. You will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, leading deal execution, and managing portfolio companies post-investment. You will leverage your industry expertise, network, and analytical skills to drive investment decisions and provide strategic guidance to our portfolio founders. Responsibilities Sourcing : Identify and attract high-potential startups that align with ACE Ventures' investment strategy. Network extensively with founders, co-investors, advisors, and industry experts, attend industry events, and leverage contacts for referrals. Conduct market research and proactively reach out to promising startups in emerging sectors. Evaluating investments : Perform due diligence on potential investments, analyzing teams, technologies, markets and financials. Prepare investment memos, term sheets and other materials for presentation to the investment committee. Executing : Lead the negotiation and closing of investments, coordinating with legal, finance, IR and execution teams. Ensure smooth collaboration between founders, co-investors, and partners for seamless transactions. Managing Portfolio Companies : Provide strategic guidance and operational support to portfolio founders. Track and report portfolio company performance, identify potential risks, and contribute to value creation. Take on board observer roles where necessary. Contributing to Firm Strategy : Work alongside partners to refine investment theses, improve internal processes, and strengthen ACE Ventures' market position. Qualifications STEM degree in a relevant field, field such as computer science or engineering. 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally at a venture capital firm, or as a VC-backed startup operator. Language and IT requirements: proficiency in English is essential, solid competency with Microsoft and Google suites, with knowledge of Notion being a plus. Exceptional communication skills: simplifying and articulating complex data clearly and effectively. Independent and self-motivated: thrive in an autonomous work environment, showcasing quick adaptability and a self-starter mentality.
