At STERIS, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.**Position Summary**:At **STERIS**, we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.**Position Summary**Design layout and detail drafting documentation responsibility on minor projects or fragmentary areas of major products from Sr. Designer’s and/or Engineer’s guidance and design specifications to develop new electromechanical products and/or correct design problems in existing products on either operational (current products) or development (new products) work.Leads the efforts of other drafters in the preparation of drawings and other documentation necessary to produce new products for Healthcare Family.Develop technological systems and creatively and effectively independent and multidisciplinary manner.**Duties**:- **Duties**1. Review the implementation plan for the ECN (list of task) and follow up activities with ECN owners.-2. Prepares design complex for electromechanical equipment from design specs on either operational (current products) or development (new products). Design to be complete and accurate as to critical tolerance areas, component requirements and placement, material selection, function, etc., as per design spec, Engineer’s and/or Sr. Designer’s instruction, and/or customer specification.-3. Originates ideas and concepts of designs.-4. Supervises the drafting effort of support drafters in the preparation of the detail documentation packages required to support his/her design.-5. Initiates and supervises the drafting effort of support designers and drafters based on task requests from engineers or possibly departments outside of Engineering, all as accepted and approved by the manager. This work shall be complete documentation package of either operational (Current Products) or new (Development) work consisting of details and assemblies to complete matrix requirements, Advanced Engineering Releases (AER’s), Preliminary Engineering Releases (PER’s), Revision Authorizations (RA’s), Engineering Change Authorizations (ECA’s)..-6. Designs assemblies for best manufacturing process for components of design as to feasibility, cost, reliability, etc.-7. Specifies code requirements in designs to meet U.L., A.S.M.E., O.S.H.A., N.F.P.A., etc. as applicable by the design spec.-8. Provides engineering and technical assistance to Manufacturing, Service, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, etc. on implementation of new drawing packages as to documentation problems and/or floor problems.-9. Performs general drawing and drafting, as required.-10. Is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of drawings in regard to views, dimensioning, conformance to company engineering specifications and drafting standards; assists in the final drafting checking function and aids in securing all necessary approvals for all drawings produced under his/her supervision.-11. Maintain and improve the quality system in accordance with the requirements, as appropriate, of the following standards: ISO 9001, ISO 13485, MDSAP and FDA 21 CFR Part 820/211, EU MDR, NOM-241-SSA1, and other applicable standards.**Education Degree**:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering General**Required Experience**:1. Two (2) to six (6) years experience in drafting and design (mechanical and/or electrical)-2. Experience using Computer Aided Design Packages (i.e., Pro-E, AutoCAD, Intergraph, Solid works, PLM)-3. Broad knowledge of Engineering and Drafting principles coupled with originality, creativity and substantial knowledge of materials, hardware and shop practices.-4.
