Position We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Engineer to lead initiatives in should cost analysis, cost modeling, and benchmarking to drive strategic cost decisions and support product development across multiple engineering teams. Responsibilities Leverage deep technical expertise, data modeling, and industry knowledge to evaluate cost structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. Lead the development and refinement of should cost models for components, systems, and manufacturing processes across multiple product lines. Drive benchmarking activities by collecting and analyzing internal and external cost data, supplier quotes, teardown data, and market intelligence. Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineering, procurement, finance, and supplier quality to validate assumptions and ensure the accuracy of cost models. Analyze design-to-cost trade-offs and provide guidance to engineering teams on cost-effective design strategies. Partner with sourcing and supplier development teams to support negotiations and supplier selection with data-backed cost insights. Serve as a technical advisor on cost engineering best practices, tooling amortization, material and labor cost drivers, and global manufacturing trends. Present findings and strategic recommendations to engineering leadership and executive stakeholders. Mentor junior engineers and analysts on cost modeling methodologies, tools, and techniques. Contribute to the development of internal tools and databases for cost estimation and analytics. Qualifications Must be located in Monterrey.
