**FULL-TIME JOB VACANCY****ASSOCIATE****Americas Division****Multiple locations in Latin America considered****Application Deadline: 22 May, 2025**The Americas Division of Human Rights Watch ("HRW") is seeking an Associate to provide administrative assistance to the team. The Americas Division is a part of the Program Department, which consists of regional and thematic divisions conducting research, reporting, and various other work. The Americas Division works to advance human rights in Latin America and conducts a wide range of work, including investigation, report writing, advocacy, and media work.**Responsibilities**:- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Director of the Americas Division and Division staff, including scheduling, making travel arrangements, processing divisional finances, preparing for meetings, and creating and maintaining extensive filing and archiving systems;- Support the research and advocacy work of the Director of the Americas Division by attending and supporting relevant meetings, conducting desk research, and other related duties;- Assist with preparing, drafting, editing, formatting, and/or distributing materials such as news releases, reports, tables, charts, briefing papers, op‑eds, publications, and web content;- Draft documents and correspondence and respond to requests for information in both English and Spanish;- Maintain communication among HRW's offices, global staff, and external partners;- Assist with desk research, electronic clipping, wires, and translations;- Assist with events such as news conferences, staff meetings, and special events;- Support the administration of social media profiles and content creation;- Assist with recruitment, coordination, and mentoring of interns; and- Perform other duties as required.**Qualifications**:**Education**:A bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience in social sciences or a related field is required.**Experience**: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience in human rights or international affairs is required.**Related Skills and Knowledge**:- Organizational skills are required.- Research and reporting skills are required.- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are required.- Interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously are required.- Ability to make sound decisions consistent with functions is required.- Ability to prioritize with mínimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team with staff in multiple locations globally is required.- Strong interest in international human rights is preferred.- Proficiency in computer design packages such as Illustrator, Premiere and Photoshop is advantageous.**Salary and Benefits**:Human Rights Watch offers competitive salary and comprehensive employer-paid benefits.**Human Rights Watch**is an international human rights monitoring and advocacy organization known for its in-depth investigations, its incisive and timely reporting, its innovative and high-profile advocacy campaigns, and its success in changing the human rights-related policies and practices of influential governments and international institutions.
