**Purpose of Position.**Collaborates in the maintaining a improving the controls systems of automated equipment in manufacturing.**Major responsibilities and tasks of the position.**- Provide electrical and controls engineering and equipment technical expertise in fiber optic cable manufacturing in support of production, maintenance, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and productivity improvements.- Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance and research teams to troubleshoot, repair and improve manufacturing equipment and its respective control systems- Serve as a resource for in-depth troubleshooting of production equipment & processes- Provide technical support when maintenance requirements exceed electrical associate capabilities.- Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer.Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with mínimal supervision- Support problem-solving in manufacturing, including root cause identification and propose resolution.- Provide on-call & weekend support as needed- Equipment performance monitoring as directed.- Propose and implement iKaizens and Safety Kaizens.- Validates alternative components behavior.- Performs electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting- Work on problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of several factors.**Minimum Knowledge and Skill Requirements.**- Required Education:Technical degree in controls or electrical engineering or related field, or various curriculum trainings- Required Years and Area of Experience:2+ years of experience in a control's technician role or other similar function**Required Skills**:- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming- Knowledge of controls systems design, programming, and systems integration- Experience working in a manufacturing environment- Strong written & oral communications skills**Desired Skills**:- SCADA- PLC programming experience- GE iFIX experience- Continuous process improvement experience- Experience with Excel and OSIsoft PI**Soft Skills**:- Creative & innovative approach to problem solving- Positive demeanor and team-oriented approach- Ability to learn, be flexible, and adapt quickly- Strong organization and time management skills- Self-starter with a strong work ethic- Communication skills (verbal and written)- Highly motivated, results oriented, customer focused, with a high commitment level**Salary**: $20,000.00 - $25,000.00 per monthWork Location: In person
