**Risk & Control Manager, Subject Matter Expert****Role Purpose.** To provide and manage governance of risk and control advisory to the IT teams across LAM based on the HSBC risk framework. We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Risk & Control Manager, Subject Matter Expert**Main activities**:- Enhance control management across Technology staff and geographic spread including priority markets, medium and small markets.- Regular interact with senior leadership and DBS CCO team to report on improvements of the Control Environment.- Functionally reporting into the LAM CCO Technology Lead- Close working relationship with Technology CCO team and Technology senior leadership team to escalate risks and issues as appropriate.- Need to perform a proactive, collaborative role across area of responsibility and also externally with a comprehensive understanding of the Regulatory environment and new/emerging top risks as well as regulatory issues.- Executive focus on risk management.- Operating effectively where there are frequent changes to HSBC policies.- Requirement to enhance controls management across a large complex function while the function undergoes significant transformation.- Strike the correct balance between controls management and commerciality, taking into account risk appetite, while holding stakeholders to account for controls performance.- To cultivate a positive controls culture across the Technology leadership team and support this positive controls culture throughout the organization.- Be able to be responsive and driven by events rather than a well-defined routine.- Flexibility and adaptability - constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable, wide ranging, complex and time sensitive therefore requiring simultaneous handling of a broad range of issues and competing priorities.- Collaboration - the role must align functional and entity goals and work with peers across Technology to ensure they meet the global agenda- Proactive identification of issues and initiation of structured discussions with key stakeholders across the Technology community- Sensitivity and trust - engendering a true sense of urgency, pace, community and collaboration across indirectly managed areas of Technology and the wider Group CCO community where required.**Requirements**:**Requirements**:**Knowledge**- Degree in information security, computer science or computer engineering qualifications desirable.- At least 5 years’ relevant experience preferably within a risk management related role.- Relevant working experience in Financial Services industry- Strong knowledge of Operational Risk and / or Audit- Knowledge of Operational Risk modelling- Previous experience in control testing utilizing industry standard frameworks and methodologies- Ability to translate trigger events in technology environments into meaningful controls remediation approach that would withstand scrutiny by 2nd and 3rd lines of defence- Open personality with effective communication skills- Lead and coordinate with colleagues and key stakeholders in an international team- Complete presentations, training and lead workshops- Planning and project management skills- Ability to work independently with limited supervision- Communication - Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Technology and HOST Senior Executives and other key stakeholders using non-technical easily understood language- Make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC values, reputation and business- Relevant Operational Risk Management, Audit etc qualifications desired- Oversight and delivery of CCO technology training requirements for function eg. Evolution of Back to Basics Programme; professional development with tailored development plans- Identification of strategic control improvement and standardisation opportunities across all technology GB / GF / regions- Advice and ownership of the global technology remediation portfolio driving control operational improvements (eg. Road to Green)- Ownership of CCO Technology performance metrics and responsibility for continual improvement across all CCO Technology teams- Ownership and monitoring of CCO Technology’s compliance with FIM requirements- Ownership and monitoring of Technology’s compliance with FIM requirements eg. Proactive monitoring and escalation where non-path to green activity is required- Lead on the development and monitoring of KRIs/ KPIs- Demonstrate ability to support/ guide critical issues response- Risk intelligence:- Demonstrate the ability to conduct vulnerability assessments- Demonstrate an ability analyse Trigger events.i.e. Internal/ external issue analysis- Ability to undertake read across activity from all VH / H audit issues identified- Degree in information security, computer science or computer engineering qualifications desirable- Cert
