Electronics Engineering Specialist

We are seeking a Engineering Specialist to work in the EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) Sales department. This position reports to the Director of EMS division and belongs to KAGA FEI America., inc. Midwest OƯice (Schaumburg/Chicago), Illinois Sales oƯice. Summary: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electronics Engineering Specialist to lead new product launch activities, manage VA/VE proposals, and support both customers and factories with technical solutions. This role requires coordination of engineering documents, schedule planning, technical issue resolution, and factory capacity monitoring. The candidate will also manage revision control, tooling data, and maintain accurate engineering documentation. Close collaboration with quality teams, customers, and production sites is essential, aiming to consistently achieve high customer evaluation scores.  New Product Launch Management  Conduct Engineering Questions in collaboration with the factory, customer, and PCB supplier (if necessary)  Obtain technical documentation required for prototyping (drawings, bill of materials, Engineering Spec Sheet, Gerber Data, etc.) by the deadline  Create Master Schedule: Confirm the factory's master schedule and create a master schedule for information exchange with the customer. (Manage progress weekly)  Monitor prototype manufacturing status (technical issues, quality issues, shipping issues) and mediate between customer and factory  Handle Provisional PPAP, PPAP, and IMDS compliance  Acquire and manage new product jig list (installation quantities, photos)  Obtain jig management number plates from customers and ship to factory  Provide photos attached to jigs to customers. VA/VE Suggestion  Chair VA/VE meetings with customers  Review and implement responses to customer-proposed VA/VE suggestions (by requesting factory actions) Confirm changes (part changes, material changes, assembly changes, etc.)  Confirm need for additional jigs. If required, collaborate with sales to create and submit quotations  Confirm runout data with the factory Create and share a runout chart based on the total current inventory count (factory stock, in-transit stock, and company warehouse stock)  Quotation response: Create quotations by sharing information with sales (manage until the submission deadline)  Prototype plan (schedule management)   RFQ/RFC preparation  Review customer RFQ drawings and BOM contents to verify all required information is included.  Enter details into the RFQ Detail sheet. Confirm any missing information with the customer.  Complete the RFQ Detail sheet and send it to Sales (Sales will request the RFQ/RFC from the factory). Factory Capacity Management and Tracking  Obtain and verify the Daily Capacity List from the factory every six months (including increases/decreases).  Continuously monitor models with critical capacity levels and obtain capacity calculation sheets from the factory.  Discuss capacity increase proposals with the factory and present them to customers. Revision Management for Current Models  For NAL, verify whether PLEX revision information has changed  If changes are found, confirm details with NAL.  Since the P/N listed on NAL's PO will change, explain to Sales and the Operation Team after confirming details. Current Product Jig List Management  Acquisition and Management of Current Product Jig Lists (Installed Quantities and Photographs). Understanding Factory Equipment  Understand factory equipment and become thoroughly familiar with it so that you can discuss matters with customers at any time. Technical Support for Customers  Identify technical issues and areas for improvement in current and new products,  and discuss enhancements with customers.  Conducted as part of VA/VE proposals. Technical Support for Factories  Identify any special instructions not specified in the drawings Verify details and request drawing revisions from the customer  Confirm cost impact and share information with Sales (Sales conducts cost revision negotiations)  Discuss with factory technical personnel to mitigate technical diƯiculties or propose solutions for prototypes and mass-produced items  Compile proposal content and present it to the customer. Current Product Documentation Management (System Storage)  Complete Data Management for New Model Launch  Provisional PPAP / PPAP / IMDS Document Management  Management of RFQ Detail Sheets for New Model RFQ/RFC  Management of Latest DRWs for Each Product  Management of Daily Capacity Lists  Management of Latest Jig Lists  Factory Equipment Management  BOM Matrix Management  Tooling List Management (Quantity and Photos of Invested Tooling) Improving Customer Evaluation  Aim for 96% or higher monthly on the Supplier Score Card.  Review the quality score and identify reasons for low scores.  If the score is incorrect, request a correction. Quality and Technical Meetings  Conduct weekly quality meetings with the factory (current mass production factory)  Conduct weekly quality meetings with the customer to share the latest information with both the customer and the factory. These meetings shall be held jointly with the Electronics Quality Specialist. Understanding and Supporting the Electronics Engineer Specialist Job Description  Understand the responsibilities of the Electronics Quality Specialist to ensure complementary workflows. Particularly for tasks like SQC, SDC, RMA, and Cost Recovery, which require customer system inputs, it is essential to verify details with the factory and warehouse and understand the precise input procedures. Warehouse Operations  Conduct year-end inventory at the warehouse  Communication with warehouse personnel Manage ECN product shipment status negotiates and bill costs related to label errors, etc. Collaborate with the accounting department to issue INV Request Forms and process expenses   Qualifications  Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field  Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical role or equivalent position required  Experience in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) field or in electronic component sales is highly desirable  Experience in the automotive industry or in a factory setting is also desirable.  Experience in technical analysis and quality control in a factory setting.  Excellent communication skills with customers and factories.  Proficiency in MS OƯice products, particularly advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.  Experience with ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 standards is a plus.  Demonstrates appropriate urgency to complete tasks accurately and on time. Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and activities.  Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with individuals, teams, and management, and to execute projects autonomously.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, team members, and internal clients. Base Salary Range: For this role, new hires generally start between $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per month This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. The final base salary is directly related to the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
