**Job Description | General Accountant****Home Office format with a few monthly exceptions.****Summary****ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial Reporting**- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and local tax regulations.- Generate financial reports for management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.**Payroll Management**- Process payroll for internal employees, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.- Collaborate with HR to update and maintain payroll records, including employee benefits, deductions, and changes.- Ensure payroll compliance with local and international tax regulations, including social security, INFONAVIT, FONACOT, and other statutory contributions.- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare payroll journal entries in the general ledger.- Address employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.- Support internal and external audits with payroll documentation and reconciliations.**Tax Compliance**- Prepare and submit accurate tax returns and filings, ensuring adherence to local and international tax laws.- Monitor tax compliance and regulatory changes, advising management on potential impacts.- Support the preparation of VAT, ISR, and other tax reports, including reconciling accounts for accuracy.**Budgeting and Forecasting**- Assist in creating budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing analysis to improve financial planning.- Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals.**Audit Coordination**- Prepare and provide required documentation for internal and external audits.- Address auditor inquiries, ensuring timely resolution of issues and recommendations.- Implement process improvements to address audit findings and optimize operations.**Collaboration**- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, operations, and finance, to align financial processes with organizational objectives.- Act as a point of contact for financial queries and provide guidance to team members as needed.**Technology and Systems**- Utilize accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) to maintain accurate financial records.- Leverage advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting, including the use of pivot tables and automation tools.**Qualifications**- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.- 5+ years of experience in accounting roles, including payroll management, preferably within multinational organizations.- Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Workday, Nomipaq) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, macros).- Bilingual in Spanish and English (written and verbal).- Strong knowledge of local and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.- Experience with payroll compliance, including social security, VAT, and ISR regulations.**Preferred Skills**- Experience managing multi-country payroll and multi-entity accounting.- Familiarity with intercompany transactions and financial systems integration.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with clients and internal stakeholders.**Language**:- English (required)Work Location: Remote
