**Job Summary**The **_Mechanical Engineer _**will contribute at a high level to the design of mechanical parts and assemblies for our Thermal units, and work in a cross-functional development group. A variety of tasks and activities are required in this dynamic environment, including occasionally leading the team on development projects. This position is responsible for adapting existing designs and creating others.**Responsibilities**:- Lead complex design projects and define design scope for project team members- Guide 3-Dimensional modeling efforts using 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) package- Check and approve drawings and bill of materials- Interact with employees, outside vendors, manufacturing and suppliers as needed- Build prototypes to support the development of product design- Lead identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes- Provide daily support to engineering work group- Other Duties as assigned**Requirements**:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or directly related degree.- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in developing mechanical parts and assemblies- Demonstrated record of meeting deadlines and goals for complex design projects.- Demonstrated ability using applicable engineering modeling tools.- Technical knowledge of content primarily related to mechanical design- Working knowledge of product lifecycle management tools- Demonstrated history of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for all phases of the product development process- Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic team- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to work and multi-task in a fast paced environment- Excellent project management skills**About Vertiv****Work Authorization**No calls or agencies please.
