Category Manager I

We create a better tomorrow by developing and responsibly producing energy-efficient products and systems.Position Summary:The Category Manager I provides tactical support for commodity management to facilitate products and services delivered to the quality, cost, and delivery performance levels required by Industrial Solutions. Ensures all engineering, customer, security, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements are met and will support the commodity manager to execute commodity strategies, with responsibility for an increased level of spend commodities, requiring approximately 50% of time focused on these commodities; support operation excellence, Industrial Solutions’ growth and innovation needs.Major Responsabilities:- Prepares Request for Quote (RFQ) packages, develops and analyzes spreadsheets to present to Management.- Provides recommendations on supplier selection and quality compliance.- Performs supplier negotiations and recommends total cost solutions.- Performs Sourcing system data base maintenance such as discount levels, maximum quantities, part price, sourcing rules.- Provides internal support to the team coordinating with other functions to ensure objectives are met.- Initiate PPAP in system to support production on schedule and quality conformance.- Execute continuous improvement projects: cost down, quality improvement, supplier consolidation and standardization.- Manage low spend commodities as required and assigned.Required Education / Experience / Skills:- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience- 2+ years of relevant experience in sourcing- Must have RFQ/ Quoting experience- Intermediate user of excel- Experience with an ERP system, e.g. Oracle R12, BILanguage: Medium to Fluent English desirable- Regal is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
