Solvento is the Fintech that is building payment and credit infrastructure for the on-the-road freight industry in Mexico. Solvento's platform uses Artificial Intelligence to validate PODs, invoices, and accessorial charges, helping to reduce errors and fraud in freight payments. Solvento offers carriers the option to collect their invoices automatically and immediately, helping companies attract and retain the best carriers while optimizing working capital for all stakeholders.

Our offices are located in Mexico City in Montes Urales.

As a Chief Risk Officer in our team, you’ll:

  • Help create something big. We're a growing startup, and you'll have an opportunity to have your voice heard.
  • Work with a diverse team that comes from different industries and were employed by previous startups.
  • Lead the risk team at Solvento.
  • Promote improvements in Solvento’s credit policies through data analysis; develop policies and underwriting journeys to maximize access to credit to our customer base while mitigating financial losses.
  • Create decision models that account for risk and work on implementation together with the Tech team.
  • Design and manage risk management strategies focusing on credit risk based on analytical assessment of operations.
  • Monitor portfolio, KPI, portfolio data and early indicators, as well as market, regulatory and macroeconomic trends impacting loan performance and delinquency levels.
  • Forecast our performance and drive adjustments to our underwriting and origination strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Chair the risk committee: lead and implement the risk committee with agenda, indicators and risks.
  • Meet with external stakeholders (lenders, investors, regulators, etc.) to explain Solvento's risk methodology.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to provide them with analytical assessments of their operations and analytical tools needed to manage their operations (dashboards, reports, models, etc.)
  • Work with Data Science area to develop complex predictive models and provide inputs.
Skills and experience

We’re looking for a CRO with:

  • Proven experience in risk management in an operationally intensive lending company.
  • Deep understanding of predictive analytics, cash flow analysis and Net Present Value based decision making.
  • Deep experience in credit modeling, pricing and data science.
  • Experience leading credit risk, overseeing financial modeling, analysis, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders, including investors.
  • Senior professional with +10 years of experience.
  • Experience in leadership of strategic and operational teams.
  • Skills to build and organize processes.
  • Hands-on personality and problem solving abilities.
  • Advanced English.
Nice to have, but not essential

Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or some other analytical field.

Spanish is a plus, not necessary.
