What we are looking forAvantStay, a fast-growing, venture-funded company in the booming short-term rental industry, is seeking an IT Support Specialist. We want someone who has strong technical skills as well as experience delivering outstanding customer service. Our IT team is small but highly capable, and this role will be a key contributor to the company.What you’ll do- Provide first-line technical support to staff for IT-related issues, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues. The hardware will primarily be staff work laptops. The software you will help troubleshoot will typically be SaaS tools such as Google Workspace, Okta, and Slack as well as technical issues with Windows 11 and macOS.- Support our staff in better utilizing our software for their everyday tasks. For example, this might include setting up a sophisticated Slack workflow, optimizing a phone tree in Twilio Studio, or adding new workflows to FreshService.- Serve as an admin for our different software tools so that you can assist with provisioning licenses, monitoring usage, and assisting staff.- Remotely monitor and maintain our wifi networks in our homes and buildings. Alert local teams when there are wifi issues that need their attention.- Remotely monitor our IoT devices in our homes and buildings. These include smart door locks, noise sensors, and thermostats. Alert local teams when there are connectivity or battery issues that need their attention.- Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures, as well as relevant data protection regulations. This would also include assisting with customer requests to delete their consumer data.- Support regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.- Support IT team projects such as evaluating new systems, supporting the switch to a new vendor, and onboarding new hardware and systems as we grow our property portfolio.**Requirements**:What you’ll bring- 2-5 years of related IT experience, preferably including wifi and networking- Excellent spoken and written English- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems- Ability to work independently and efficiently- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail**Benefits**Compensation- Hourly pay rate $12-15+ per hour depending on skills & experience- Flexible workplace - work from anywhere outside the US- We are a hospitality company so we support our staff and guests 7 days a week. This role will require approximately 40 hours of work per week on a 5-days on, 2-days off schedule.
