Senior Database Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of mission‑critical databases across multi‑cloud environments. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain database solutions that drive the success of our organization. Responsibilities Install, configure, and upgrade MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Oracle databases Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization strategies Develop and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and availability Implement and maintain robust database security measures, including user access management and data protection Set up and manage database replication, clustering, and high‑availability solutions Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting languages and tools Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to support application and infrastructure requirements Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field At least 3 years of experience in database integration and management Advanced expertise in administering MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, and Oracle databases Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell or Python to automate database tasks and processes Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI to streamline deployment and integration processes Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible for managing database infrastructure Hands‑on experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack to track database performance and troubleshoot issues Knowledge of cloud database services, including AWS RDS, Azure Database, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Strong understanding of database security practices, replication techniques, and high‑availability configurations Proficiency in English communication skills (B2+ level or higher) with experience in client‑facing interactions to gather requirements and provide updates We offer International projects with top brands Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers Employee financial programs Paid time off and sick leave Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000+ courses Global career opportunities Volunteer and community involvement opportunities EPAM Employee Groups Award‑winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Engineering, Information Technology, and Business Development Industries: Software Development, IT Services and IT Consulting, and Venture Capital and Private Equity Principals #J-18808-Ljbffr
