Job Reference: -2- Date Posted: 6 February 2025- Recruiter: South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue- Location: City, Sheffield- Salary: £25,584 to £27,269- Sector: Administration, Print- Job Type: Contract**Fire Community Safety Officer (FCSO)****Location**:Various sites across South Yorkshire**Hours**:37 hours full time, 18.5 hrs part time**Work Pattern**:Monday - Thursday: 08.30 - 16.30 Hours, Friday 08.30 - 16.00 Hours**Salary**:Grade 4 (£25,584 - £27,269)A number of temporary opportunities are available within our Prevention department for Fire Community Safety Officers, based across sites in South Yorkshire.The overall purpose of the role will be to deliver an effective prevention programme to the communities of South Yorkshire in line with the prevention strategy. This will be done through community engagement focussing on Fire, Road and Water Safety.**To be considered for this role you will have previous experience of**:- Dealing with members of the public, providing guidance and advice face to face- The promotion of a safer community via community education and intervention- Working with a high degree of autonomy with minimum supervision- Administration duties**You must possess**:- A full UK driving licence**The key duties will include**:- Carrying out Home Fire Safety visits to the diverse communities of South Yorkshire- Delivering Fire Setter Interventions for children and young people- Delivering education package within schools up to Key Stage 4- Promote and deliver community safety messages to the public at fetes, galas and other community events**Interviews**will be held week commencing Monday 10 March 2025.**Interested?**New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. We also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.Most of our corporate roles offer flexi time and agile working, meaning people can vary their hours to suit their commitments outside of work as agreed with their line manager. Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.All eligible corporate staff are auto enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%. It is a defined benefit pension scheme that means pensions are based on salary and the length of paying into the scheme.
