The Data Scientist communicates effectively with end-users and department heads to understand what information best helps them succeed and has the technical experience and tools to deliver and display this information in an intuitive manner.- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Take the needs of Engineering and translate them into data insights- Run analytics, including statistical testing and predictive modeling.- Collaborate with Engineering by providing support to drive data driven decisions.- Create user-friendly dashboards and customer interfaces for the developed tools.- Presentation skills to explain the developed tools.- Create tools and user instructions for effective hand-off.- Has an education in Data Science/Analytics (Master’s degree preferred) with knowledge of programs such as SQL, Python, R, and visualization tools like Power BI.- Ability to work successfully in a team environment on global projects.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy- Comfortable working with large datasets, building visualizations, and data reporting- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills- Expertise in various statistical methods and processes- Demonstrated experience balancing and delivering upon multiple priorities- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Ability to develop and use structured approaches to identify root causes and recommend resolutions- Ability to learn and adapt quickly- Expertise with coding and statistical languages (e.g., Python, R, and SQL) required.- Strong Excel skills- Alteryx certification preferred- Understanding or Education in Engineering preferredEducational/Certification Requirement:- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree, experience using statistical or coding languages.- Master’s Degree preferred, prefer degree in math or science field, and prefer certification in coding or statistical languages above.Work Experience:- Minimum 5 years of experience using coding or statistical languages in either professional or educational environments.
