Senior Technical Program Manager

Role Overview We are seeking a Contract Technical Program Manager to drive execution across critical workstreams within a large-scale compute and platform modernization program. This role partners closely with engineering leaders across Cloud Platform, Production Engineering, Traffic, and Security to plan and deliver migrations to a unified Kubernetes-based compute platform. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role, responsible for structuring complex technical initiatives, driving delivery, managing risk, and ensuring cross-team alignment toward clear milestones and outcomes. Working Hours: Strictly 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM (PST); availability for late-day calls required Contract: 12 months, with possibility of renewal Responsibilities Own planning and execution for defined workstreams within a large-scale, cross-team infrastructure or platform program. Define clear milestones, dependencies, and delivery accountability across multiple engineering teams. Create and maintain detailed program plans, timelines, and execution dashboards. Identify execution bottlenecks and actively drive resolution by clarifying ownership and removing blockers. Maintain program governance, including regular cadences, status reporting, and risk/issue tracking. Lead cross-functional coordination for service onboarding and migrations, including dependency management and rollout planning. Proactively identify risks, escalate early, and drive decision-making in ambiguous or high-impact scenarios. Communicate effectively with engineers, managers, and senior stakeholders through written updates, reviews, and program documentation. What We’re Looking For Experience 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a closely related technical leadership role. Proven experience leading complex, multi-team software, infrastructure, or platform programs end-to-end. Technical Foundation Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures and large-scale distributed systems. Working knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and container-based platforms (enough to engage in deep technical discussions and challenge assumptions). Program Management Strong fundamentals in program and project management: scope definition, dependency management, governance setup, execution tracking, and delivery at scale. Demonstrated ability to drive execution across multiple teams with competing priorities. Stakeholder Management Proven ability to influence engineering leaders and cross-functional partners without direct authority. Experience facilitating alignment when requirements conflict and driving teams toward pragmatic solutions. Ownership & Problem Solving Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a clear bias toward execution and delivery. Ability to take ownership of ambiguous, unstructured problems and drive them to closure. Communication Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to clearly translate complex technical topics for diverse audiences. Availability Ability to work strictly PST hours (8:30 AM – 5:30 PM) and attend late-day calls as required. NICE TO HAVE Technical Depth Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure environments. Experience supporting or migrating large microservices-based architectures. Prior exposure to SRE, Production Engineering, Security, or Infrastructure Finance teams. Domain & Program Context Experience working on Kubernetes platform migrations or compute unification initiatives. Background in infrastructure governance, cloud cost optimization, or engineering compliance programs. Experience supporting multi-year, cross-organizational platform transformations. Program Maturity Experience building or scaling TPM practices, operating models, or governance frameworks. Familiarity with metrics-driven delivery, OKRs, or platform success measurement frameworks.
