To manage a team of complex Claims Adjuster. To drive best practice claims handling performance both in terms of optimal claims outcomes and customer service, and the technical and professional development of their team.**Responsibilities**:**Functional Responsibilities**:Manage the allocation of claims within their Complex team of adjustersProvide a technical referral point for team members and manage performance,Keep the Auto Senior Manager advised of key Complex loss developments and wider Complex trends.Execute strategic initiatives within their Complex teamEnsure Complex ‘Best Practice’ is maintained within their Complex teamDrive performance through required criteriaEnsure claims are accurately assessed and proactively reserved within agreed service levelsEmbed use of balance scorecard/KPIs within team**Accountabilities**:Team performanceTeam professional and technical developmentTeam communicationTeam complianceEffective resolution of Complex level claims handled by team adjustersAccurate and consistent reserving and financial control of claims in Complex teamMitigation of indemnity and expense spend for Complex claims within their teamPerformance manage the team to maximise best practice compliance and minimise lost economic opportunity within Complex claims segment.Personal Development / Succession Planning for individuals within the Complex team.Managing compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements within the Complex team.Effective communication to all relevant stakeholders.Leadership SkillsPeople and team management experience, including the proven ability to effectively manage team membersAbility to positively influence, in a multi-cultural environment, stakeholders at every level both internally & externally.Highly effective communicator (written, verbal, presentation, training)Ability to deliver strategic directives internally while also marketing AIG claims expertise externally.Broad range of leadership competencies, from direction and pace setting to coaching and effective listening.Identify and address performance issues within the team.Technical Skills and ExpertiseFully developed specialist knowledge in Auto technical claims topics.Strong stakeholder management experience, both internal (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance and executive management) and external (brokers, major account clients)Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretationA strong knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirementsExperience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skillsExperience in conducting technical claims audits and effectively following up on findings.We are an Equal Opportunity EmployerAmerican International Group, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliates are committed to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and its policies and procedures reflect this commitment.
