**Position**: Sr. Design Engineer (New Product Development)**Location**:Monterrey, Mexico**Position Summary**: The Sr. Design Engineer (New Product Development) is the primary responsible to develop the technical solution for the design & introduction of new products. Encompassing the design, detailing, and testing of parts/assemblies/products to meet market needs, product development guidelines, product performance, product standards, safety, and quality.The Sr. Design Engineer demonstrates leadership, technical competence and keeps close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing and Marketing to complete projects on time, budget, quality and safety. These tasks are all done in a fast-paced project-based environment.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:- Identify, lead and manage projects which may include design, development, rebuilding, cost savings, product improvements, or documentation for new/existing electromechanical products.- Execute the requirements of the New Product Development process including system/product design, Engineering Change Notices, Safety Reviews, project phase reviews, build and test, and final release.- Owns and develops verification and validation plans according to the country regulatory and standards.- Identify & Manage both Technical & Project risks.- Review project designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and related specifications, while supporting the manufacturing and assembly process definition.- Perform analysis (tolerance, structural and/or thermal) to insure the adequate performance, quality, and reliability of the product.- Coach & lead other Engineers. Drive department/team initiatives.- Lead Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.- Design and detail parts and assemblies in Parametric CAD, that are aligned to the marketing specifications, performance requirements and safety standards.- Create bills of material for products and enters product data into the manufacturing systems.**Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities**:- Successful track record working & leading product, process or equipment development projects in prototype and production environments.- Working knowledge and solid experience with Full Product Design Cycle (from Requirements to Industrialization).- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skill in both Spanish & English (written, verbal).- Strong technical competencies together with the ability to lead, influence and convince.- Proven successful leadership in a multicultural environment.- Continuous improvement mindset. Quality-driven.- Promotes a collaborative attitude with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the group’s achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.- Experience with Product Design using Parametric CAD Software and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where creativity, cooperation, and communication are key.- Ability to keep track and organize work from multiple jobs at once, keeping deadlines.- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing situations.**Required Qualifications**:- Bachelor in Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Aeronautical, Materials Science)- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.- Proven solid experience on mechanical, gears, shaft, clutch or mechanisms design.- Proven solid experience on manufacturing processes (i.e. machining, casting, forging, plastic injection or sheet metal fabrication)- Hybrid work schedule (2 days at Home Office / 3 days at Workplace)- Bilingual - Spanish/English.- Experience on Parametric CAD (SolidWorks preferable).- 20%+ Travel availability (Valid Passport & USA Visa).- Master’s in science (M.Sc.) is a plus.- Project Management knowledge is a plus.
