About the job Goods & Services is looking for a Sr. Database Engineer who has extensive experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, ETL processes, relational database design, and Power BI. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database solutions to support our data-driven initiatives. What you’ll do Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient database solutions using Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database. Implement and manage ETL processes to ensure accurate and timely data integration from various sources. Design and optimize relational database schemas to support business requirements and ensure data integrity. Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions. Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide support to development teams. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database management and analytics. What you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role. In-depth knowledge of SQL database design and optimization. Exposure to Microsoft Azure Services. Strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database. Experience with pipelines (ADF & Synapse). Solid T‑SQL Skillset. Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experience using Python to build integrations, automations, or applications that work directly with Azure cloud services and databases. Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Nice to have Experience with other database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle). Familiarity with big data technologies and data warehousing concepts. Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
