GRSM is comprised of Global Rental & Used Equipment Services, Global Service and Global Marketing & Brand. A primary role of GRSM is to support and enhance Caterpillar’s dealer network, which is a competitive strength and the critical way in which we serve our customers.The **Data Scientist **will work with the Lead Data Scientist, data engineers, business analysts and business stakeholders to build statistical models and predictive analytics on large, complex data sets to support services growth, rebuild growth, service data quality, improved quoting, and service excellence at our dealerships. The primary responsibility of the Data Scientist is to be an independent contributor on multi-person analytic teams. This position has a depth of knowledge in quantitative analytic methods, data management, and or associated digital technologies suitable to handle all but the most complex issues.Data Scientists are expected to be familiar with the company’s processes, products, and organization, as well as its customers, competitors, and stakeholders. Work is typically directed by a direct supervisor, team lead through a review of results. The Data Scientist also mentors and develops the capabilities and organizational knowledge of more junior information data scientists and business analysts.**Job duties include, but are not limited to the following**:- Develop, test, and deploy machine learning models- Collaborate and understand analytics initiatives across the company- The ability to demonstrate thorough knowledge of Caterpillar Inc.; its products and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures; and its relevant external influences (competitors, laws and regulations, market conditions, etc.) to meet or exceed customer expectations- Have a strong focus on continual learning in the Analytics field- Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time**Basic Qualifications**:- 5+ years of professional experience utilizing quantitative analysis- Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field with quantitative coursework- Experience with Python, Pandas, NumPy and/or Snowflake, SQL- The ability to comfortably and confidently working with MS Office as well as industry standard statistics and data visualization packages- Must be willing to travel up to 10% of working time (domestic & international)- SnapLogic experience**Additional Information**:- This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in Mexico**Final Details**:**The Caterpillar Code of Conduct states that we will select and place employees based on their qualifications for the job to be performed, without regard to race, religion, national origin, color, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.
