Responsible for implementing, tuning and maintaining VMware based solutions Implements VMware vSphere for server consolidation and virtualization Reviews existing technology implementations and suggests and implements improvements and upgrades. Actively seeks out opportunities to improve existing practices, procedures, and technology implementations Applies technical knowledge of networks, operating systems, utilities, etc. to the VMware environment Provides guidance to management for changes related to virtual infrastructure Maintains awareness of VMware software patches and their impact on the environment Defines, monitors, and troubleshoots system performance within the VMware environment Develops and maintains operational guidelines for the maintenance and support of the virtual infrastructure Evaluates resource requirements for VMware products Self-motivated with outstanding organization and attention to detail ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 5 years of VMware experience including host platform security, server consolidation, virtual desktops and server virtualization. Good understanding of SAN, fibre channel, and network technologies Demonstrated experience in virtualization and consolidation of server technologies, specifically VMware vSphere and ESXi Virtual Infrastructure Experience with building and maintaining high-availability (>99%) VMware environments Ability to work independently in all phases of systems analysis activities Excellent written and verbal communications skills along with the ability to communicate with non-technical personnel and customers Experienced with creating technical documentation Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to quickly learn various operating systems and applications Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team environment Outstanding work ethic, strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated proficiency with shell scripting PowerShell, bash, perl, python ESXi command line experience UCS administration experience, creating templates, service profiles, firmware updates. VMWare certification – VMware Certified Associate required, with Certified Professional or Advanced Professional preferred. DESIRED SKILLS 5+ yrs. experience designing/implementing virtualization technologies 4+ yrs. system administrator level of experience with various operating systems: Linux and Windows 3+ yrs. administrator experience with SAN, fibre channel, and network technologies Linux & certification RHCE, RHCSA, > ESX version 5 and 5.5 and UCS technologies Here at Atos, diversity and inclusion are embedded in our DNA.
