Resumen: The Buyer - MRP is responsible for managing the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production schedules in a maquiladora environment. This role ensures material availability through efficient use of the MRP system, vendor management, and alignment with company quality, cost, and delivery standards. **Responsabilidades**:**Key Responsibilities**:- Review and analyze MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system to generate purchase orders in line with production demand.- Ensure the on-time procurement of materials and components to prevent line stoppages and production delays.- Manage vendor relationships, including communication, follow-up, and negotiation of lead times, pricing, and delivery schedules.- Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to quality, delays, or non-conformances.- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Logistics teams to resolve material shortages or discrepancies.- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update ERP/MRP data as needed.- Coordinate with Customs/Logistics to ensure compliance with maquiladora import/export regulations.- Support cost-reduction initiatives, vendor development, and continuous improvement activities.- Prepare purchasing reports, KPIs, and analysis for management review.**Requirements**:- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, International Trade, or related field.- 2-4 years of experience in purchasing within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).- Familiarity with maquiladora processes and import/export regulations.- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).- Bilingual: English and Spanish (intermediate to advanced level).- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.**Desired Competencies**:- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.- Results-oriented and detail-driven.- Team player with strong collaboration skills.- Continuous improvement mindset.
