Senior Software Engineer

Role Summary The Senior Software Developer is a hands-on technical leader responsible for designing, building, and operating secure, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS applications in an enterprise B2B environment. This role blends deep individual contribution with technical leadership—owning complex features and services end to end while guiding engineering decisions, mentoring teammates, and shaping architecture. Operating within a pod-based delivery model, this role is accountable for execution, quality, and operational outcomes. Success is measured not only by what is built, but by how reliably it runs in production and how effectively the team delivers over time. What You’ll Do (Day to Day) Design, implement, and operate core SaaS features and services, remaining deeply hands-on across the full development lifecycle. Take ownership of key components within a cloud-native, multi-tenant architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and reliability. Lead technical design and implementation within the pod, making architecture and trade-off decisions while actively contributing code. Partner closely with Product Management and UX to translate business and customer requirements into pragmatic, durable technical solutions. Set and reinforce engineering best practices through example—writing production-quality code, tests, and documentation. Build and maintain automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) to support continuous delivery and regression-resistant releases. Lead and participate in code reviews and design discussions, raising quality without creating unnecessary process overhead. Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance while remaining accountable for delivery. Diagnose and resolve complex production issues in distributed systems, performing root-cause analysis and implementing long-term fixes. Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and deployment reliability. Required Qualifications 6+ years of professional experience building web-based software, including meaningful time in an enterprise SaaS or cloud-native environment. Strong hands-on expertise in at least one modern backend language and framework (e.g., Java/Spring, C#/.NET, Node.js), with working proficiency in modern frontend technologies (React, Angular, or Vue). Proven experience building and operating secure, multi-tenant services on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and working with high-volume data in distributed systems. Practical experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, including versioning, backward compatibility, and security concerns. Strong grounding in core software engineering fundamentals: data structures, design patterns, concurrency, and distributed systems. Demonstrated use of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern Git-based workflows in real delivery environments. Experience working in Agile, cross-functional teams with shared accountability for outcomes. Clear, effective communicator who can explain technical decisions to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience delivering B2B enterprise SaaS products with defined uptime, performance, and support expectations. Experience with SaaS-specific capabilities such as tenant isolation, feature flags, configuration management, usage metering, and entitlement models. Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR) and secure coding practices. Background in microservices or event-driven architectures and the associated observability challenges. Experience tuning performance and planning capacity for high-scale, customer-facing systems.
