Creative Director

Sola Wood Flowers is looking for a creative director to join our team. As our creative head, you will own the production of content for use in advertising and on-site. We are flexible around experience level, and comfortable hiring someone with between 2 to 6 years of work experience. Experience in / around DTC & eCommerce is preferred, especially in the context of performance creative. Who are we? At Sola Wood Flowers, we are transforming what artificial flowers can be by providing better flowers for less with our affordable eco-friendly wooden flowers and currently serve over 6% of American weddings annually. We're working towards building a modernized $100mm+ vertically-integrated platform selling through direct-to-consumer, owned retail and traditional wholesale channels. Key Objectives Build, manage and coach our in-house creative team in order to produce the creative assets our marketing team needs on an ongoing basis. Find third-party creative agencies and creatives as needed. Structure relevant contracts and hold them accountable to performance targets. Drive measurable improvements in core advertising metrics across digital channels with improved creatives. Use data gleaned from sources like Rockerbox, Google Analytics, Meta Ads, YouTube ads, etc to optimize performance across our creatives. Work with our marketing team to come up with new creative concepts and ideas. Help our executive team allocate resources and capital during our quarterly and annual offsites. Requirements Onsite at our facility in Monterrey, MX. Fluent in English & Spanish. Experience with performance creative, or creative for DTC / eCommerce specifically is a massive asset. You are intimately familiar with the tactical side of producing excellent creative across a variety of mediums. A deep understanding of how to interpret digital advertising performance. Experience managing and building high performing teams. Are able to provide references as requested. This means you understand what it takes to produce excellent photography for eCommerce catalogs, performance creative for paid media on YouTube, and more. You know what phrases like thumbstop, CTR, CVR, and CPC mean. We do not want to waste your time or ours with a potential mishire. Our interview process is detailed & thorough. Examples of What You'll Be Doing Producing in-house video ads, end-to-end, to be run across Facebook, YouTube, and other digital channels. Sourcing and allocating budget into third-party creative agencies on an as-needed basis. Interviewing and hiring your core creative team, as well as coaching them. Build process behind how creativity works at our company. How Our Hiring Works & How We Operate When hiring, we'll work with you to define the KPIs you'll be responsible for and set targets. This removes ambiguity around wondering if you're doing a good job after you start. Initial soft interview, then a long-form live technical interview with the appropriate department. We run on EOS / Traction. If you've used Scaling Up or something like OKRs, you'll likely slip into Traction easily If you haven't used it before, we recommend quickly researching Traction.
