Communications Officer

**Job Profile**The Communications Officer will provide communication support to the project, ensuring stakeholder engagement, public awareness, and showcasing the impact of the different interventions on the project.**Competences**- Knowledge of desktop publishing tools (e.g. InDesign/Photoshop).- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.- Good time management and organizational skills.- Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems and social media platforms- Proficient with local languages (SiSwati and English).- Attention to detail, accountability and accuracy.- Reliability and consistency in meeting deadlines and deliverables.**Key Performance Outputs**- Develop and implement the communication strategy- Serve as the media contact person for the EWSSAP.- Facilitate the creation and management of a website and social media content aligned to the project’s communication strategy.- Prepare and distribute periodic media coverage reports, i.e., monthly, quarterly and annually, quarterly newsletters. Distribute to relevant stakeholders.- Update communication platforms and engage with stakeholders on the platforms. E.g. Website, Social Medial Platforms.- Serve as secretariat of communication officers in the Ministries and Agencies implementing the project (i.e. EWSC, MoH, MNRE, NDMA).- Coordinate media coverage at EWSSAP events**Education**A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism or related field, with experience as Communications officer or equivalent experience in a similar role is strongly preferred.**Experience**- A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in working with a media or in a communications role in relevant private, public sectors, or NGOs.- Proven experience in developing a communications strategy for organizations or projects; development Bank funded projects would be an added advantage.
