S&P Global RatingsResearch Analyst**The Team**: The Data & Content Management Team (DCM) delivers and maintains accurate, complete and timely data sets while taking into account the business units global interests and needs internally and externally. Members of the DCM team develop very close relationships with their stakeholders in order to execute on their data requirements. DCM professionals leverage solid processes and technologies to perform data management tasks as accurately and efficiently by using quantitative and qualitative metrics to measure process quality and efficiency. Corporate DCM team members also implement processes and operational changes by writing procedures, training materials, and leading implementation plans. DCM professionals are responsible for stakeholder communications at various stages of the change process.**The Impact**: The DCM team integrates news, market-and sector-specific data, and analytics into intelligent tools that allow business partners to track performance, identify investment ideas, understand market dynamics, perform valuations, and assess credit risk. Our delivery offers customers access to our data and analytics from desktop platforms to mobile apps to on-demand data feeds. We ensure data is relevant to the specific sector or situations, with analysis that covers changing market conditions.**The Role**: The Data & Content Management Team at S&P Global Ratings is looking for a Research Analyst with a strong background in accounting, finance, and computer programming to support the Americas region research team.This role handles all aspects to support the research and collection of financial data for LATAM equity and multi-asset indices and involves gathering and cleansing data, back-testing strategies, preparing presentations, and publishing research papers. Additional responsibilities include improving current workflow and utilizing a wide range of toolsets to deliver data to the organization.The position offers significant independence and flexibility in projects, with direct exposure to other R&D team members working in the US, Europe, and Asia as well as a global client base, during each project development phase.This opportunity is located in Mexico and reports to management in New York where additional opportunities and projects will originate.**Responsibilities**:- Support Lead Analysts on data gathering, data quality assurance and analytics- Create research publications, documentations, and other presentation collateral- Participate in client outreach and education, conferences, seminars, and other marketing- Develop, support, and utilize Python libraries and other automation tools and processes- Coordinate with the rest of the Global R&D team, as well as other functional groups including Product Management, Sales and Marketing- Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines- Must be able to clearly communicate (verbal + written + presentation material) to a variety of audiences**Skills and Experience We Are Looking For**:- Minimum 1+ year of professional experience in a financial services, analytics role, or another quantitative/technical role with appreciation and interest in financial markets and technology.- Exposure to global financial markets in publicly traded assets (equities, fixed income, commodities, currencies) is a plus.- Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a quantitative field such as Finance, Computational Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering. Graduate degree or Ph.D. beneficial- Strong technical skills and familiarity with dashboards and data analytics.- Basic programming skills in Python, MATLAB, SQL and/or R language.- Hands-on experience with portfolio back-testing and simulation.- Verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish.
