The Finance Assistance is responsible for performing a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. The Senior Accountant must be accustomed to a high volume of automated and manual transactions, fast paced manufacturing environment.**What You’ll Do**- Assist with the physical inventory of fixed assets.- Assist in preparing journal entries and maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles.- Assist the month end close process.- Assist in preparing information for completion of federal, state, and local tax income tax returns.- Assist in preparing and reviewing sales/use tax requirements including meeting the state and local requirements.- Ad Hoc projects deemed necessary by the accounting department.- Ensure compliance with Marmon policies (SPIs).**Who You Are**- ** Independent Self-Starter**:Takes prompt, proactive action to accomplish work goals with limited oversight- ** Strategic Thinker**:Relies on analytical and problem-solving skills to think strategically and execute tactically- ** Optimizer**:Finds ways to continuously improve processes, methods and team performance- ** Change Maker**: Develops and enables new solutions to sustain the business and improve competitive advantage- ** Culture Advocate**: Hires and educates for inclusiveness and navigates cultural complexities for the organization**Skills/Experience We’re Looking For**- Proficient user of large ERP Systems (experience with INFOR/LN preferred, but not required).- Self-starter with strong work ethic, and a flexible and collaborative work style.- Strong communication skills.- Team oriented and willing to perform detailed work.- Ability to interact with various levels of staff throughout the organization.- Strong understanding of accounting concepts and good analytical skills.- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel, and Outlook.- Adherence to timelines and deliverables.**Required Qualifications**- Minimum of 1-3 years of accounting experience in manufacturing environment.- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.- Experience in Contpaq or INFOR/LN is a plus.- Spanish/English fluency is a plus.
